First Presbyterian Church of Glen Cove hosts the North Shore Sheltering Program from Thanksgiving to the end of March; homeless men are given food and shelter every evening from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am, including being examined by a nurse, given supper and light breakfast, shuttled to La Fuerza Unida on Sea Cliff Ave. in the morning where classes are taught on English and computer skills, and where day labor pickups are made.
