About Our Pastor
Rev. Simpson has always believed that the church is to be open and welcoming of all people regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, or socio-economic position. She is interested in and advocates for peace, non-violence, social justice, caring for the environment, alleviating poverty and homelessness and building the community of nations. Her hope is to continue to offer a place of sanctuary, nurture and spiritual challenge to everyone who is searching for a church home. Rev. Betsy Simpson has been the Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Glen Cove, for over 10 years, having previously served as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Southold. Rev. Simpson received her BA from Hanover College, Hanover, IN, in 1971, and spent her Junior Year of college at the University of Ghana, West Africa. She earned her M. Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1974. In 1978 she earned a M.A. in education from Castleton State College in Vermont and then a Th. M. in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1982.
